Camping at Christmas
This story may be too late for the season but I would like to write down our great celebration of this past Christmas.
It is our family’s tradition to spend Christmas at home, either in our house or we go to my cousins’ and spend the eve by singing karaoke, eating special dishes, playing loud music, and exchanging and opening presents.
Growing up, I always wanted to experience white Christmas although I know it hardly happens to many Filipinos. So I never believed in Santa because, in movies, I always see Santa flying above snowy villages and dropping off presents to houses with chimneys. Houses in the Philippines don’t have chimneys at all and it never snows here. Haha!
So last year was special for us. It was our first ever foggy Christmas!
The place is called La Sierra Farm situated in the mountains of Municipality of Maragusan in the province of Davao de Oro. We rented a big van for our family and it took us four hours to get there from Davao City.
